We found no studies on treating cognitive impairment with vitamin D although several trials are being set up around the world.
It would have to be determined whether vitamin D could reverse cognitive impairment, stop further degradation, or have limited to no effect.
For those with cognitive impairment, raising serum 25(OH)D levels should not hurt and should have side benefits in reducing risk of other diseases.
